No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Cerdanyola (5-11) won against on the road 13th ranked Sitges (3-12) 93-88 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 50-43 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Cerdanyola made 37-of-44 free shots (84.1 percent) during the game, while Sitges only scored twelve points from the stripe. Sitges was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for swingman Eric Forne (194-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Genis Tena (186-89) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five Cerdanyola players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Gerard Gonzalvez (191-93) responded with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and power forward Roger Perez (203-96) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Sitges' coach Eduardo Pinero rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cerdanyola moved-up to tenth place in Group C-B, which they share with Andorra II. Sitges lost their eleventh game in a row. Sitges at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 12 games lost. Cerdanyola will face higher ranked Vive El Masnou (#9) in Barcelona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sitges will play on the road against Igualada (#7) and hope to win that game.
