Regular Season Round 19: BVM 2012 - Chantada 63-56

There was a small surprise in Mieres where fourth ranked BVM 2012 (10-5) won against leader Chantada (13-3) 63-56 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chantada won fourth quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Brazilian center Dida Pereira (203-92, college: Sequoias CC) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds. Center Manu Parada (202-89) helped adding 14 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side center David Guerra (207-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Jacobo De-Benito (180-90) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for BVM 2012. They maintain fourth place in Group A-B with 10-5 record, which they share with Calidus Gal.COB. Loser Chantada still keeps top position with three games lost. BVM 2012 will face Seis do Nadal (#14) in Vigo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Chantada will play at home against Ponferrada CDP (#7) and hope to win that game.
