Regular Season Round 19: L Alfas - Sagunto 86-75

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Alfas Del Pi where 8th ranked Sagunto (7-10) was defeated by ninth ranked L Alfas (7-10) 86-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by L Alfas. Sagunto was better in fourth quarter 31-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. L Alfas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sagunto's 28. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when L Alfas made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for American Jalen Nesbitt (198, college: N.Florida) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Belarusian power forward Ivan Zhauniarovich (205-86) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). At the losing side American Nicolas Boscafiori (201-92) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and guard Luis Torrijo (184-93) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Five Sagunto players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. L Alfas moved-up to sixth place in Group E, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Sagunto. Sagunto lost their third game in a row. L Alfas will face higher ranked Valencia-2 (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
