A2 top team - Panionios (16-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Kavala (5-11) in Athens 73-50. Panionios dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Kavala's 16 and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Panionios forced 19 Kavala turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by Kavala helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international Michalis Pelekanos (198-81) stepped up and scored 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international forward Nikos Barlos (203-79) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Five Panionios players scored in double figures. Forward Sokratis Gkelios (200-95) responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds and Polish-American guard Andy Mazurczak (188, college: Wisc.-Parkside, agency: Duran International) scored 14 points.
