Regular Season Round 22: GKS Tychy - GTK Gliwice 72-86

The most interesting game of round 22 was a home defeat of 5th ranked GKS Tychy (13-9) to fourth ranked GTK Gliwice (14-8) 86-72. It ended the three-game winning streak of GKS Tychy. GTK Gliwice looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Power forward Marcin Salamonik (202-83) scored 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Marceli Dziemba (186-92) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Radoslaw Basinski (188-78) responded with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and Marek Piechowicz (201-88) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GTK Gliwice maintains fourth position with 14-8 record, which they share with Pogon Prudnik and Polonia Leszno. GKS Tychy at the other side dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. GTK Gliwice is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Nysa Klodzko (#16) in Kloszko in the next round which should be an easy win for them. GKS Tychy will play at home against Polonia Leszno (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
