The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Lattes Montpellier as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Basket Landes) loss. Lattes Montpellier smashed 7th ranked Nantes Reze at home 88-57. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Nantes Reze. The game without a history. Lattes Montpellier led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Lattes Montpellier outrebounded Nantes Reze 38-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists. The former international power forward Geraldine Robert (183-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. The former international center Elodie Godin (191-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Lattes Montpellier players scored in double figures. Lattes Montpellier's coach Valery Demory felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian forward Katherine Plouffe (190-92, college: Marquette) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and German Margret Skuballa (186-87) added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Nantes Reze. Lattes Montpellier have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Flammes. Nantes Reze at the other side keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. Nantes Reze will play next round against strong Basket Landes trying to get back on the winning streak. Lattes Montpellier will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Tarbes on the road.
