Regular Season Round 38: Hiroshima D. - Nishinomiya S. 65-64

Second-ranked Nishinomiya S. (24-12) made lots of trouble for first ranked Dragonflies (30-6) in Hiroshima. Dragonflies managed to secure only one-point victory 65-64. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. The former international forward Shogo Asayama (192-81) saved the victory by scoring 17 points. The former international center Daiji Yamada (200-81) contributed with 12 points for the winners. American forward Larry Owens (201-83, college: ORU, agency: Three Eye Sports) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Australian center Jordan Vandenberg (216-90, college: N.Carolina St.) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Nishinomiya S.Four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dragonflies have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 30-6 record which they share with defeated Nishinomiya S. Nishinomiya S. at the other side still keeps top place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Gunma. Dragonflies will play against league's leader Gunma on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Nishinomiya S. will play against Iwate Big Bulls and hopes to get back on the winning track.
