Regular Season Round 18: PuHu Juniorit - HNMKY U23 79-69

Everything went according to plan when second ranked PuHu Juniorit (16-4) defeated 8th ranked HNMKY U23 (8-13) in Vantaa 79-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by PuHu Juniorit. HNMKY U23 was better in second period 26-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for guard Eero Lehtinen (194-85) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Eero Sahlberg (188-90) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four PuHu Juniorit players scored in double figures. Center Petteri Ruutiainen (207-95) replied with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Ville Tahvanainen (190-0) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for HNMKY U23. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. PuHu Juniorit maintains second position in Division with 16-4 record behind leader TuNMKY. Loser HNMKY U23 keeps the eighth place with 13 games lost. PuHu Juniorit will face Karkkila (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. HNMKY U23 will play against Korikouvot and hope to win that game.
