Regular Season Round 19: Scandone AV - VL Pesaro 79-62

No shocking result in a game in Avellino where third ranked Scandone AV (13-6) defeated 14th ranked VL Pesaro (6-13) 79-62. It looked good early as VL Pesaro took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Scandone AV had a 25-15 second period charge getting the lead and VL Pesaro was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-79. Scandone AV players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Adonis Thomas (198-93, college: Memphis) who led the winners and scored 20 points. International forward Andrea Zerini (205-88, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Scandone AV players scored in double figures. Scandone AV's coach Stefano Sacripanti used entire bench saving starting five for next games. American guard Marcus Thornton (193-93, college: William & Mary) came up with 22 points and American-Hungarian power forward Jarrod Jones (205-90, college: Ball St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for VL Pesaro in the defeat. Scandone AV moved-up to second place. VL Pesaro at the other side keeps the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Scandone AV's next round opponent will be Brescia (#10) on the road and are hoping to win another game. VL Pesaro will play against Banco di Srd (#4) and hope to win that game.
