There was no surprise when 14th ranked Albacete (5-15) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked L'Hospitalet (8-12) 66-58 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 39-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. L'Hospitalet dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Albacete's 24. The best player for the winners was guard Gabriel Diaz-Morera (196-89) who scored 20 points. Center Eduard Arques (202-94) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Kris Davis (188-93, college: SIU Edwardsville) produced 16 points and his fellow American import guard Jeffrey Short (193-92, college: Norfolk St.) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. L'Hospitalet have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted L'Hospitalet maintains twelfth position with 8-12 record. Albacete lost fifth consecutive game. Albacete at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth place with 15 games lost. L'Hospitalet will face higher ranked Cambados (#5) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Albacete will play against the league's leader CB Granada (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
