Regular Season Round 8: Pelita Jaya - Satya Wacana 95-69
Date: February 12, 2017
Bottom-ranked Satya Wacana (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 95-69 loss to eighth ranked Pelita Jaya (3-3) in Jakarta on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Pelita Jaya. Satya Wacana managed to win second period 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Satya Wacana 53-30 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Pelita Jaya looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Satya Wacana's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Jamaican forward Kore White (205-89, college: S.Florida) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international Respati Pamungkas (180-91) who added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. American point guard Jarron Crump (183-92, college: Pacific Union) responded with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Nate Maxey (211-92, college: N.C.Central) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pelita Jaya moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hang Tuah. Loser Satya Wacana still closes the standings with six games lost. Pelita Jaya's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Jakarta NSH GMC.
