Regular Season Round 20: Porto S.Elpidio - Giulianova 68-52

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Giulianova (7-12) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Porto S.Elpidio (13-7) 68-52 on Sunday. Porto S.Elpidio outrebounded Giulianova 43-26 including 31 on the defensive glass. Giulianova was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Stefano Cernivani (190-91) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and Alberto Cacace (197-96) who added 8 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Point guard Simone Colonnelli (185-91) responded with 16 points and point guard Danilo Gallerini (185-80, agency: Players Group) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Porto S.Elpidio moved-up to fifth place in B. Loser Giulianova keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Porto S.Elpidio will face higher ranked Bisceglie (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Giulianova will play against San Severo (#4) and hope to win that game.
