The game between second ranked Panathinaikos (17-1) and 14th ranked Doxa Lefkadas (3-15) in Athens on Wednesday ended with biggest points difference. Panathinaikos outscored guests from Lefkadas 90-61. The game was mostly controlled by Panathinaikos. Doxa Lefkadas managed to win fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Doxa Lefkadas 36-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. Panathinaikos looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Chris Singleton (206-89, college: Florida St.) notched 9 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import Kenny Gabriel (209-89, college: Auburn) supported him with 17 points. Even 14 points and 5 assists by British point guard Justin Robinson (185-87, college: Rider, agency: Promotex) did not help to save the game for Doxa Lefkadas. American point guard Shannon Scott (186-92, college: Ohio St.) added 6 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Olympiacos. Doxa Lefkadas lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Panathinaikos will meet Kolossos HH (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Doxa Lefkadas will play against Kymis (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
