Superleague top team - Petrochimi (15-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed tenth ranked Shiraz a.s Pipe (0-17) in Bandar Imam 96-48. The game without a history. Petrochimi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Shiraz a.s Pipe to just 4 points in fourth quarter. Petrochimi dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Shiraz a.s Pipe's 24. Petrochimi forced 25 Shiraz a.s Pipe turnovers and outrebounded them 52-31 including a 22-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Petrochimi players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Shiraz a.s Pipe's players. The former international point guard Hamed Hosseinzadeh (186-87) notched 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and the former international forward Reza Lotfi (198-83) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Petrochimi players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds by the former international Reza Ranjbar did not help to save the game for Shiraz a.s Pipe. Saman Taherpour (203-91) added 8 points and 5 rebounds. Defending champion maintains first position with 15-2 record. Newly promoted Shiraz a.s Pipe still closes the standings.
