The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Samsun's (13-10) road loss to seventh ranked Istanbulspor (15-9) 86-91. The winners were led by American guard Elijah Johnson (192-90, college: Kansas) who scored that evening 24 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import Brandon Brown (201-85, college: CS San Bernar.) supported him with 26 points and 5 rebounds. Brown is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Istanbulspor's coach Hakan Yavuz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Mikael Hopkins (206, college: Georgetown) did not help to save the game for Samsun. Forward Hazer Avci (206-87, agency: Court Side) added 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Istanbulspor and five Samsun players scored in double figures. Istanbulspor have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Istanbulspor maintains seventh position with 15-9 record. Samsun lost third consecutive game. Samsun at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Istanbulspor's next round opponent will be Bandirma Kir. (#10) in Balikesir. Samsun will play at home against Final Genclik and hope to win that game.
