Regular Season Round 24: Goleniow - SMS PZKosz 64-70

Rather predictable result when second ranked SMS PZKosz (15-7) beat on the road 5th ranked Goleniow (13-9) 70-64 on Saturday. SMS PZKosz forced 21 Goleniow turnovers. The best player for the winners was Daniel Golebiowski (196-98) who scored 21 points. Power forward Adrian Bogucki (212-99) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four SMS PZKosz players scored in double figures. SMS PZKosz's coach Mariusz Niedbalski used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Marcin Zarzeczny (187-87) who recorded 21 points and 8 assists and Tomasz Balcerek (190-87) added 15 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively. SMS PZKosz have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 15-7 record having eight points less than leader Slask Wroclaw. Newly promoted Goleniow dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. SMS PZKosz will face Trefl II Sopot (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Goleniow will play against AZS PGd in Gdansk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
