Important game to mention about took place in Gandia. Eighth ranked Blancos de Rueda (11-10) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 13th ranked Gandia (7-14) 71-68 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gandia. Gandia was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 34-26 second half run of Blancos de Rueda. Center Sergio De-La-Fuente (198-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and American guard Henri Wade-Chatman (188-92, college: Edinboro) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Bahamas guard Dynile Forbes (190-87, college: La-Monroe) with 17 points and naturalized American center Shalawn Miller (205-74, college: Mass.-Lowell) scored 5 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Blancos de Rueda moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Alcazar and Zornotza. Newly promoted Gandia keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Blancos de Rueda will play against higher ranked Meridiano Alicante (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gandia will play against CB Tarragona 2017 (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
