Regular Season Round 9: Pelita Jaya - NSH GMC 72-74

The most exciting game of round 9 in the IBL took place in Jakarta. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Pelita Jaya (3-4) to eighth ranked NSH GMC (3-4) 74-72 in the game for the sixth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pelita Jaya. The guests trailed by 8 points after three quarters before their 20-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. NSH GMC forced 24 Pelita Jaya turnovers. It was a good game for American power forward Nate Barfield (206-88, college: Langston) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Gary Jacobs (188-92, college: Cent.Washington) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American-Jamaican forward Kore White (205-89, college: S.Florida) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 18 rebounds and the former international Respati Pamungkas (180-91) added 19 points and 4 assists in the effort for Pelita Jaya. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. NSH GMC moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Pelita Jaya and Hang Tuah. NSH GMC is looking forward to face league's second-placed CLS Knights in Surabaya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pelita Jaya will play on the road against Satya Wacana (#11) in Salatiga and is hoping to win this game.
