Everything went according to plan when fourth ranked Fontedoso Carrefour (14-7) defeated 9th ranked Navarra (10-11) in Avila 64-59 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Fontedoso Carrefour forced 19 Navarra turnovers. American forward Connor Beranek (198-94, college: Nebraska-Kearney, agency: Duran International) nailed 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Javier Marin (195-94) accounted for 17 points and 4 assists. American guard Dylan Poston (193-93, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Dynamics Global Management) came up with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Dutch center Kevin Bleeker (208-93, college: Canisius, agency: Court Side) added 2 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Navarra in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Fontedoso Carrefour maintains fourth place with 14-7 record, which they share with Cambados. Navarra lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 11 games lost. Fontedoso Carrefour will meet Albacete (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Navarra will play against Alcazar (#7) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the LEB Gold just one year after relegation.
