There was a minor upset in Zamora where 9th ranked Innova Chef (7-10) was defeated by twelfth ranked Gijon (6-11) 77-73 on Sunday. Innova Chef was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was forward Diego Sanchez (198-78) who scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Center Armando Alvarez (199-76) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Dionte Adams (201-94, college: Hampton) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Senegalese center Alioune Senghor (200-96) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Gijon and five Innova Chef players scored in double figures. Innova Chef's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Gijon moved-up to eleventh place in Group A-B, which they share with La Fecha. Loser Innova Chef keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Gijon will face Vigo VGO (#13) at home in the next round.
