No shocking result in a game when third ranked Meridiano Alicante (15-7) beat at home 6th ranked Moron (12-9) 87-72 on Sunday. Meridiano Alicante looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Moron's players. Forward Alejandro Reyes (197-93) nailed 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side and point guard Alvaro Lobo (192-92, agency: Duran International) accounted for 16 points. Lobo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Meridiano Alicante players scored in double figures. Meridiano Alicante's coach Miguel Angel Zapata used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Javier Marin (190-92) came up with 18 points and 5 assists and forward Jose Jimenez (197-96) added 18 points respectively for Moron in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Meridiano Alicante. They maintain third place with 15-7 record behind leader Granada. Moron at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. Meridiano Alicante will meet at home Blancos de Rueda (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Moron will play against Zornotza and hope to secure a win.
