There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Volpino AltoSeb. (7-14) beat on the road higher ranked Desio (9-12) 91-83 on Sunday. Desio was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Simone Centanni (185-91, agency: Interperformances) who scored 30 points and 7 assists. Naturalized Argentinian forward Andreas Bergamin (195-93, agency: Players Group) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Andrea Negri (193-88) who recorded 17 points and 5 assists and naturalized Argentinian guard Ariel Svoboda (192-85, agency: Interperformances) added 10 points and 11 assists respectively. Four Volpino AltoSeb. and five Desio players scored in double figures. Volpino AltoSeb. moved-up to twelfth place in B. Loser Desio keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Volpino AltoSeb. will face higher ranked Piacenza (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
