The game in Thorlakshofn was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Thor AK (9-9) played at the court of sixth ranked Thor Thorl (10-8). Thor Thorl managed to secure a 5-point victory 73-68 on Sunday. Thor AK was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Tobin Carberry (193-91, college: LIU Post, agency: HMS) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Olafur Jonsson (192-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Carberry is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard George Beamon (193-91, college: Manhattan) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Thor Thorl moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Grindavik. Newly promoted Thor AK dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Thor Thorl will face league's second-placed Tindastoll in Sauoarkrokur in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Thor AK will play on the road against IR (#9) in Reykjavik and hope to win that game.
