Regular Season Round 21: Padova - Vicenza 96-89

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Padova (11-10) won against at home 12th ranked Vicenza (6-15) 96-89 on Sunday. Padova shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. The best player for the winners was forward Marco Lazzaro (198-92) who scored 29 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Dominican guard Jean-Carlos Canelo (188-89, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Umberto Campiello (198-85) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and Federico Vai (191-95) added 18 points respectively. Four Padova and five Vicenza players scored in double figures. Vicenza's coach Sandro Orlando let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Padova moved-up to seventh place in B. Vicenza lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. Padova will face league's second-placed Bergamo on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vicenza will play against Faenza (#5) and hope to win that game.
