Very predictable result in Athens where second ranked Panathinaikos (11-4) defeated 11th ranked Kronos AD (2-13) 59-51 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Niki Avery (168-86, college: E.Kentucky, agency: Interperformances) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Australian forward Alex Sheedy (185-92, college: Fresno St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Aikaterini Spatharou (172-83) added 12 points respectively. Panathinaikos maintains second place with 11-4 record having four points less than leader Olympiacos. Kronos AD lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Panathinaikos will meet Niki Lefkadas (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kronos AD will play against Panionios and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
