Regular Season Round 39: Toyama Grouses - Toyota Alvark 81-100

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Toyota Alvark (29-7) crushed on the road 6th ranked Toyama Grouses (8-30) 100-81 on Sunday. Toyota Alvark made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Toyama Grouses were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American point guard Diante Garrett (196-88, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Zack Baranski (193-92) contributed with 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. Five Toyota Alvark players scored in double figures. American Drew Viney (204-88, college: Loyola Mary) answered with 22 points and 9 rebounds and forward Naoki Uto (188-91) added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Toyama Grouses. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Toyota Alvark keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Tochigi Brex. Toyama Grouses lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth place with 30 games lost. Toyota Alvark will face league's leader Tochigi Brex at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Toyama Grouses will play against the league's leader Toshiba Thunders (#1) and hope to win that game.
