Another interesting game was also this time a derby match between teams from Doha: Al Shamal (#6) and Al Sadd (#9). Al Shamal (6-11) won against visiting Al Sadd (4-13) 68-59. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Al Sadd won third quarter 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Al Shamal forced 23 Al Sadd turnovers. Strangely Al Sadd outrebounded Al Shamal 45-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a very good performance for American point guard Reggie Hamilton (182-89, college: Oakland, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Elhag-Ali Saleh (191) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward AJ West (206-91, college: Nevada) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds and Senegalese center Oumar Seck (208-88) added 14 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Al Sadd. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Al Shamal maintains sixth position with 6-11 record. Al Sadd at the other side keeps the ninth place with 13 games lost. Al Shamal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Qatar Sports Club.
