Regular Season Round 20: Galil Elion - Ironi Ramat Gan 100-89
Date: February 21, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (2-18) lost to eleventh ranked Galil Elion (9-11) in Kazrin 89-100 on Tuesday. Galil Elion shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 60.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The winners were led by American power forward Germain Jordan (198-86, college: Dillard) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Yaniv Strauss (190-92) supported him with 26 points. Galil Elion's coach Avishay Gordon used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists by naturalized American Sean Labanowski (205-92) did not help to save the game for Ironi Ramat Gan. American power forward Anthony Lee (206-91, college: Ohio St.) added 19 points and 12 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Galil Elion have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hapoel Afula. Ironi Ramat Gan lost tenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Galil Elion will meet higher ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (#3) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ironi Ramat Gan will play against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#7) and hope to secure a win.
