The game with biggest result difference took place in Uusikaupunki. Local UU-Korihait (4-24) lost to third ranked Kauhajoen Karhu (19-10) 81-70 on Wednesday night. The game was mostly controlled by Kauhajoen Karhu. UU-Korihait managed to win third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a quality performance of American swingman Austin Hollins (195-91, college: Minnesota) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. Juho-Matti Lehtoranta (195-89) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side point guard Mikko Jalonen (186-82) responded with 12 points and 9 assists and American power forward Marcus Van (201-87, college: Cent.Michigan) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Five Kauhajoen Karhu and four UU-Korihait players scored in double figures. UU-Korihait's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kauhajoen Karhu have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain third place with 19-10 record behind leader Helsinki Seagulls. UU-Korihait lost sixteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 24 lost games. Kauhajoen Karhu will meet at home league's leader Helsinki Seagulls in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UU-Korihait will have a break next round.
