Date: February 24, 2017
Seventh ranked Nantes Reze (9-10) crushed at home 11th ranked Lyon (4-15) by 28 points 87-59, which is the biggest margin this round. The game without a history. Nantes Reze led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Nantes Reze outrebounded Lyon 39-28 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian forward Katherine Plouffe (190-92, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. German Margret Skuballa (186-87) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Nantes Reze players scored in double figures. American forward Lauren Ervin (191-85, college: Arkansas, agency: Two Points) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Christelle Diallo (193-93) added 15 points in the effort for Lyon. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Nantes Reze maintains seventh place with 9-10 record. Lyon lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 15 games lost. Nantes Reze's next round opponent will be higher ranked Bourges (#5) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lyon will play against Nice (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
