PBL top team - Mavericks (10-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Dream (0-12) in Owensboro 138-102. Mavericks dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Dream's 44 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Mavericks forced 28 Dream turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The winners were led by center Nicholas Waddell (200-90, college: Grand Valley St.) who scored that evening 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Marcus Fillyaw (185-94, college: Ky Wesleyan, agency: Paris Global Sports) supported him with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Mavericks' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists by center Julius Francis (211, college: Miss.Valley St.) did not help to save the game for Dream. Point guard Reuel Moore (185-92, college: Albright) added 27 points for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Mavericks have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-1 record. Loser Dream still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Mavericks will meet at home Warhawks (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Dream will play against Bootleggers in Columbus and hopes to get finally their first victory.
