Regular Season Round 15: Aisin AW - Saitama Bron. 71-89

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked Aisin AW (13-15) lost to seventh ranked Saitama Broncos (10-18) in Aichi 71-89 on Saturday. Saitama Broncos forced 20 Aisin AW turnovers. Strangely Aisin AW outrebounded Saitama Broncos 46-34 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Aisin AW was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Tiras Wade (200-81, college: La-Lafayette) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Masaya Ueda (177-93) contributed with 17 points and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Kyouhei Kumazawa (180-88) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Kei Kato (172-93) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Aisin AW. Four Saitama Broncos and five Aisin AW players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Saitama Broncos. They maintain seventh place with 10-18 record. Aisin AW lost their third game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 15 games lost. Saitama Broncos will have a break next round. Aisin AW will play on the road against Tokyo HT (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
