Regular Season Round 19: Faros - Amyntas Dafnis 100-69

Very expected game when 11th ranked Amyntas Dafnis (7-12) was smashed by fourth ranked Faros (13-5) in Keratsiniou 100-69 on Saturday. Faros made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Amyntas Dafnis turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Vaggelis Karaboulas (198-81) accounted for 25 points for the winning side. Four Faros players scored in double figures. Faros' coach Giannis Tzimas felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Leonidas Zoupas (182-82) came up with 15 points and 7 assists and point guard Vassilis Mansarai (190-95) added 9 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Amyntas Dafnis in the defeat. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Faros. They maintain fourth place with 13-5 record. Amyntas Dafnis lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with Arkadikos. Faros will meet Holargos (#6) on the road in the next round. Amyntas Dafnis will play against Kavala (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
