Regular Season Round 21: Vive El Masnou - Igualada 56-68

Everything could happen in Barcelona at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Igualada and 9th ranked Vive El Masnou had identical 8-9 record. But Vive El Masnou was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Igualada 68-56 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Igualada. Vive El Masnou was better in third quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Jordi Torres (188-83) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Center Micky Garcia (206-85, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Igualada players scored in double figures. Center Jordi Catalan (200-90) answered with 16 points and Albert Valle-Vives (-92) added 6 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Vive El Masnou. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Igualada. They moved-up to sixth place in Group C-B, which they share with Valls Nutrion and Sant Adria. Loser Vive El Masnou keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Igualada will face Muro Basquet (#9) at home in the next round. Vive El Masnou will play against Pardinyes-L. in Lleida and hope to win that game.
