Regular Season Round 8: Chautauqua H. - Jamestown J. 92-93

The most exciting game of round 8 in the PBL took place in Fredonia. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th ranked Hurricanes (6-8) to fourth ranked Jackals (7-5) 93-92 on Saturday evening. Strangely Hurricanes outrebounded Jackals 44-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. Forward Christian Davis (190, college: Howard Payne) saved the victory by scoring 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Congolese forward Chiza Ntirata (203, college: Oklah.Christian) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Ntirata is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Puerto Rican-American swingman Edwin Ubiles (198-86, college: Siena) replied with 36 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Tyquan Brown (200-89, college: Cal Poly Pomona) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hurricanes. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Jackals moved-up to third place, which they share with Ohio Bootleggers. Hurricanes lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. Jackals is looking forward to face Sky Chiefs (#6) in Providence in the next round. Hurricanes will play on the road against Bootleggers in Columbus and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
