Regular Season Round 13: Kumanovo - Vardar 86-69

Bottom-ranked Vardar (0-13) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their 13th consecutive match to third ranked Kumanovo (9-3) 86-69. It looked good early as Vardar took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kumanovo had a 26-17 second period charge getting the lead and Vardar was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-86. Kumanovo players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Serbian power forward Danilo Mijatovic (206-83) nailed 28 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and Serbian Stefan Zivanovic (196-89) accounted for 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Nigerian guard Deji Ibitayo (193-93, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) came up with 17 points and 4 steals and Jetmir Zekjiri (200-96) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Vardar in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kumanovo have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 9-3 record having just three points less than leader Rabotnicki. Newly promoted Vardar still closes the standings with 13 games lost. Kumanovo will play against Strumica (#5) in Strumica in the next round. Vardar will play at home against Ohrid AV and hopes to get finally their first victory.
