Regular Season Round 25: MBC - Hamburg 106-82

Leader Mitteldeutscher BC delivered the twenty second victory. This time they crushed 11th ranked Hamburg (10-15) 106-82 in Weissenfels. Mitteldeutscher BC dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hamburg's 38. They outrebounded Hamburg 37-23 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mitteldeutscher BC players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of naturalized Afghani point guard Achmadschah Zazai (177-86, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 assists. American point guard Marcus Hatten (185-80, college: St.John's) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Mitteldeutscher BC's coach Igor Jovovic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Anthony Canty (183-91, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 18 points and 4 assists and center Justin Raffington (205-91, college: Florida Atlantic) added 11 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Hamburg. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Mitteldeutscher BC maintains first place with 22-3 record. Hamburg lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Mitteldeutscher BC will play against Nuernberg (#12) in Nurnberg in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Hamburg will play at home against MLP Academics Heidelberg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
