Regular Season Round 21: Muro Basquet - Cerdanyola 87-77

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 11th ranked Cerdanyola's (5-13) road loss to tenth ranked Muro Basquet (8-10) 77-87 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Muro Basquet. Cerdanyola was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Muro Basquet well out of reach of Cerdanyola shooting 73.2 percent from the field. Cerdanyola was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Jonathan Graham (203-91, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) contributed with 28 points (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Givens is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Muro Basquet players scored in double figures. Swingman Eric Forne (194-88) answered with 19 points and guard Albert Salat (191-91) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cerdanyola. Cerdanyola's coach Agusti Forne tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Muro Basquet moved-up to ninth place in Group C-B, which they share with Vive El Masnou. Cerdanyola at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Muro Basquet will face higher ranked Igualada (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cerdanyola will play against Valls Nutrion (#8) and hope to win that game.
