Regular Season Round 16: Kronos AD - Panionios 54-71

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Kronos AD (2-14) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Panionios (7-9) 71-54 on Sunday. Panionios outrebounded Kronos AD 47-26 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Panionios made 9 blocks. American forward Katie Healy (185-94, college: St.Bonaventure) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The other American import guard Lexi Petersen (180, college: Oregon) chipped in 23 points. Australian forward Alex Sheedy (185-92, college: Fresno St.) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Georgia Stamati (178-96) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Panionios maintains ninth position with 7-9 record. Kronos AD lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 14 games lost. Panionios will face higher ranked Niki Lefkadas (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kronos AD will play against PAOK in Thessaloniki and hope to win that game.
