TBLK top team - Sleza Wroclaw (17-3) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Widzew (3-17) in Lodz 84-50. Sleza Wroclaw dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Widzew's 26. Sleza Wroclaw forced 23 Widzew turnovers and outrebounded them 41-17 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Widzew's players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Nikki Greene (193-90, college: Penn St.) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Dutch Kourtney Treffers (187-94, agency: Court Side) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Sleza Wroclaw players scored in double figures. Guard Julia Drop (175-95) produced 12 points and forward Wiktoria Zapart (185-96, college: UTEP) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sleza Wroclaw have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-3 record. Widzew lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 17 games lost. Sleza Wroclaw will meet Energa Torun (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Widzew will play against Basket Gdynia (#8) and hope to secure a win.
