Regular Season Round 11: Saigon H. - Alab Pilipinas 78-74

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Filipino Alab Pilipinas (7-6) against fifth ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (5-7) on Sunday night. Visiting Alab Pilipinas were defeated by Saigon Heat in a tough game in Saigon 74-78. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. It was an exceptional evening for American Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American-Panamanian center Jordan Henriquez-Roberts (214-89, college: Kansas St.) accounted for 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Sampson Carter (203-90, college: Massachusetts, agency: Haylett Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and American-Filipino guard Bobby-Ray Parks (193-93, college: High School) added 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Alab Pilipinas in the defeat. Four Alab Pilipinas players scored in double figures. Alab Pilipinas' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Saigon Heat moved-up to fourth place. Alab Pilipinas at the other side keep the third position with six games lost. Saigon Heat will play against league's second-placed Singapore Slingers on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Alab Pilipinas will play against KL Dragons and hope to get back on the winning track.
