Quarter-Finals Round 1: CD Valdivia - AB Ancud 78-82

AB Ancud upset CD Valdivia to take the lead in the quarterfinal series. Deportivo Valdivia was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 27-21 charge of AB Ancud, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Reginald Larry (198-86, college: Boise St., agency: Pro Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and Venezuelan swingman Francisco Centeno (201-85) chipped in 25 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and the former international guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
