Regular Season Round 21: Oldenburg - Rostock 80-70

Very expected game when 8th ranked Rostock (9-12) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Oldenburg (14-7) 80-70 on Sunday. Swingman Lucien Schmikale (194-97) stepped up and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Bosnian point guard Robert Drijencic (190-96) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. Four Oldenburg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Jovonni Shuler (195-87, college: Savannah St.) with 18 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import point guard Jarvis Davis (183-91, college: Gardner-Webb) scored 8 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Oldenburg moved-up to second place in North, which they share with Art.Dragons. Loser Rostock keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Oldenburg will face AstroStars (#5) in Bochum in the next round. Rostock will play on the road against Recklinghausen and hope to win that game.
