Regular Season Round 20: Galil Gilboa - Maccabi K/G 66-80

Bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the five-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they won against tenth-ranked Galil Gilboa in Rosh Pina 80-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Galil Gilboa. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi K/G. Galil Gilboa was better in second period 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi K/G forced 19 Galil Gilboa turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Josh Selby (188-91, college: Kansas, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 23 points and 6 assists. Power forward Curtis Kelly (204-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. Four Maccabi K/G players scored in double figures. Guard Michael Qualls (197-94, college: Arkansas) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) added 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Maccabi K/G maintains twelfth position with 4-16 record. Newly promoted Galil Gilboa keeps the tenth place with 12 games lost. Maccabi K/G will face higher ranked Ironi Nahariya (#9) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
