Regular Season Round 24: Breidablik - FSU 54-48

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Breidablik (14-7) beat 7th ranked FSU (7-15) in Kopavogur 54-48 on Monday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But FSU won third quarter 9-4. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by swingman Snorri Vignisson (193-97) who scored that evening 11 points and 7 rebounds and forward Leifur Arnason (193-80) supported him with 14 points. Even 23 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Terrance Motley (201-91, college: Sam Houston St.) did not help to save the game for FSU. Point guard Ari Gylfason (186-89) added 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Breidablik maintains fourth position with 14-7 record. Loser FSU keeps the seventh place with 15 games lost. Breidablik will meet Hamar (#5) on the road in the next round. FSU will play against the league's second-placed Fjolnir and hope to secure a win.
