Regular Season Round 21: Macc.Rehovot - Hapoel B/S 60-59

There was a change at the National League leadership position after last games. Round 21 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Hapoel B/S (14-7). They were edged by fifth ranked Maccabi Rehovot (13-8) 60-59 on Tuesday night. American forward Evan Yates (198-91, college: Ashland) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and swingman Gur Porat (197-79) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Yates is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Maccabi Rehovot's coach Avner Yeor used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import swingman Jason Williams (198-83, college: UTEP) scored 18 points. Maccabi Rehovot have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hap.R/G Givat. and Ironi K-A. Hapoel B/S at the other side dropped to the second position with seven games lost. They share it with Hapoel K/S. They were replaced at the leadership position by Maccabi Raanana. Hapoel B/S will play next round against Ironi Ramat Gan trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Maccabi Rehovot will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Hap.R/G Givat. in Givataim.
