Toros upset Fuerza Regia on the road to take 1-0 lead in the semifinal series. Toros looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international center Lorenzo Mata (205-86, agency: Pro Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American-Puerto Rican point guard Wilfredo Pagan (184-76) chipped in 16 points. Four Toros players scored in double figures. Nigerian center Jeleel Akindele (216-83, college: Chicago St., agency: BeoBasket) produced 26 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Andy Panko (203-77, college: Lebanon Valley, agency: BeoBasket) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
