No shocking result in a game in Santander where first ranked Estela (18-1) outleveled 13th ranked Zarautz Ulacia (5-14) 74-48 on Saturday. The game without a history. Estela led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zarautz Ulacia to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Zarautz Ulacia 42-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Estela looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Point guard Jon Pena (183-97) had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Czech center Tomas Hampl (215-88) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Estela's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side guard Mikel Larranaga (180-95) responded with 12 points and center Bingen Eceiza (200-95) scored 5 points and 5 assists. Estela have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group A-A with 18-1 record. Zarautz Ulacia lost third consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 14 games lost. Estela will face Mondragon (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zarautz Ulacia will play against Valladolid Univ. and hope to win that game.
