Regular Season Round 22: Venta de Banos - Pielagos 82-92

Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Pielagos (9-10) beat on the road 15th ranked Venta de Banos (2-16) 92-82 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Pielagos. Venta de Banos was better in fourth quarter 33-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Power forward Sergio Iglesias (200-92) scored 17 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Juan Arnaiz (193-79) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Daniel Garcia responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds and British point guard Dominik Tannis-Harriet (190, college: Fresno Pacific) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Five Pielagos and four Venta de Banos players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Pielagos moved-up to seventh place in Group A-A, which they share with Valle de Egues. Loser Venta de Banos keeps the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. Pielagos will face Valle de Egues (#7) in Olaz in the next round. Venta de Banos will play on the road against Easo (#3) in San Sebastian and hope to win that game.
