Regular Season Round 22: Casvi - Torrelodones 81-54

Date: March 4, 2017
Not a big story in a game in Villaviciosa where 15th ranked Torrelodones (3-17) was rolled over by second ranked Casvi (17-5) 81-54 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-54. Casvi outrebounded Torrelodones 43-25 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Jose-Miguel Perez (202-96) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Fernando Sierra (187-95) chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Casvi players scored in double figures. At the losing side Nigerien center Serge Mourtala (212-98) responded with 9 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Elijah Hayes (182-93, college: Flagler) scored 12 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Casvi have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain second position in Group B with 17-5 record having just twenty four point less than leader Meridiano Baza, which they share with Real Madrid II. Torrelodones lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth place with 17 games lost. Casvi will face Estudiantes B (#13) in Madrid in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Torrelodones will play at home against Quintanar and hope to win that game.
